hi im new to this and i am only really doing this for fun with some friends in their garden and i wondered if anyone knew if you could upgrade/modify a spring powered gun as i didn't plan on spending more than 50

if it is a cheap springer gun there would be no point in upgrading it.

if you are just playing with mates, I'd go for one of the cheapy DE AEG's, or something similar.
you say you're doing it for fun, and automatic is fun!

i decided to get an sm6 and it works well its accurate and strong enough but i wondered if you knew any cheap springs that would just add a little more

Welcome to the forums :)

Honestly I wouldn't even think about upgrading them internally. They're decent enough for messing about in the back garden anyway. Make sure you have/get some eye protection.

ok thanks its just it loses the majority of its power after around 40-50 feet with 0.20gram bbs

The sm6 is terrible, get an m83a2.
Much better for beginners
