It's actually a Bolt Action Rifle. If you are going to be pedantic, at least be accurate.

Eh? The important distinction is that 'sniper' is - and always has been - a role and isn't just restricted to a single type of gun. I've certainly seen posts where it gets confusing as to which people are actually referring to (even with the correct context). Call it a bolt action rifle, a rifle, a sniper rifle, a boomstick - whatever takes your fancy. Just don't call them both 'snipers' because that makes zero sense.

Pedantic would be someone saying 'oh actually it's a carbine and not a full-length rifle, so don't call it a rifle'. Correcting genuinely non-distinctive COD-talk like using 'sniper' as two vastly different nouns? That's not pedantic.

You'd look at me as though I was god damn retarded if I called my M249 'support'.

Actually I wasn't being pedantic I was just correcting the term from sniper which is the term for a human specialist who uses such a weapon.
Sniper rifle is an excepted term for that style of rifle. Look what comes up when you google TM VSR.

My post was meant in a joking fashion though where most of yours are just you trying to come off superior.

Still needs trademarks engraving, a coat of paint and a scoutlight to replace the WML, but it's coming along :)

This gun any good? Does it justify it's price? I like the look of it as it's different to all the usual m4 and that.

why tape the pistol grip?

Partly just to see how it looked and Its a fabric tape so ofers a extra grippy and slightly cushioned feel to the grips. I do wear gloves so probably makes the whole excercise pointless :P

Well, I haven't even started my VSR build yet (only ordering pieces so far) and it's already won a competition! 2nd place in a sniper (role) rifle looks competition. Feel free to check it out.

Good way! How's the weight on the VSR now? Don't suppose it'd weigh much more than the plastic stock

Or should it be a BASR, Bolt Action Sniper Rifle, as it is bolt action (obviously) and also fulfilling the sniper rifle role? :P

Nurse (noun), the first person you will see when waking up after saying "hold my gun and watch this..."

No clue. I haven't gotten it yet (and the gun itself is still in customs). The stock was attempted for delivery today, but I'm not home until Friday night, so I'll get it Monday.

To be really pedantic;
As the barrels on airsoft guns aren't rifled, can they really be classed as Rifles at all?

It really doesn't matter what you call it so long as you're not using the same word to describe two vastly different things (i.e. a gun and a role).
